Test Information

To locate information on a particular test, click on the relevant letter and follow the trail. eg To find information on sample requirements, test availability and turnaround time for FeLV, click on "F" and then click on the relevant test (FeLV soluble Ag or FeLV IFA).


Zinc - large animals
Suitable Sample:
  • LH
  • Tissue - liver if deficiency suspected
  • Tissue - liver or kidney if excess is suspected
Unsuitable Sample:
  • PC, EDTA
  • Samples in vacutainers are not suitable as the stoppers contain zinc
Minimum Sample Size:
  • 10 mL whole blood
  • 100 gm fresh tissue (can be frozen)
Turnaround Time:
  • 2 weeks
